In an now annual event, members of the NWTRA once again made a few of the local children a bit happier by making and distributing wooden toys. In 2020 it was to Pioneer Nursery in Pendleton.

This was all possible due to the members of the NWTRA agreeing to donate funds for needed tooling and to Tum-a-Lum for the lumber donated. Many members of the club also donated over 190 hours of their time to the building process: The shop space, jigs, designs, and tools were donated by Richard and Lynn Galloway. Buck, Lynnette, and Saline McEntire provided more construction labor. The cribs received a special enhancement of hand made blankets and dolls made by Pat Furgerson, Reta Alford, and Della Walter..

Our work was noticed by Bear Woods Supply Company where we purchase our wheels and other supplies. Because of the toys given out, they are donating us $50 worth of supplies.  They are also able to take donations that will go to our cause. Toys for Christmas have been distributed in the past to the Pendleton Early Learning Center, Tum-a-Lum, Pilot Rock Elementary, Sherwood Elementary, Agape House-Hermiston, and Vision Source. In each case these locations had families that were facing rough times and were grateful for all the help they could get to make their children’s lives a bit happier.
